Homemade Acai Bowl for a Healthy, Nutritious Snack or Meal

acai-bowl

When it’s super hot outside (like it has been here in Vegas) I crave ice cream, but since that’s not the healthiest idea, I’ve discovered the homemade acai bowl. What makes these really easy to make at home is the fact that they are very customizable depending on what ingredients you have. For the base, I use these frozen Sambazon packets that I found at Costco. Then I mix in half of a banana and 1/4 cup almond milk. You can also add some fruit to make it more like a thick smoothie or chia seeds to add an extra punch of nutrients. Next up is the topping! For this bowl I used sliced bananas, strawberries, blueberries and granola, but pretty much any fruit/granola topping will work! This healthy bowl of deliciousness isn’t a science, so just play around with the ingredients you enjoy. It has become my go-to summer snack when I’m home on the weekends.
