Belated Birthday Brunch at PublicUS Las Vegas

I LOVE birthdays and want to be treated like a princess every October 21st, but Rob likes to pretend they aren’t that big of a deal. He said he didn’t have anything planned, so I went to a monthly get-together with some of the wives from his squadron. When I got home he had a “happy birthday” banner, Dairy Queen ice cream cake and a present waiting for me. Although he acts nonchalant, he always has something sweet and thoughtful planned. To make up for the fact that we didn’t have a celebratory dinner (because he was on a midnight schedule, which means waking up at 8pm and going to work at 10pm), I suggested we have a belated birthday brunch at PublicUS since I’d been dying to try their coffee and mouthwatering menu items.

I started with the Macadamia Nut Latte and was surprised that it had little bits of the nuts mixed in. It tasted amazing and adds an interesting texture to the otherwise smooth drink. Everything on the menu sounded delicious, but I decided on the Soppresatta (sourdough toast topped with two fried eggs, black truffle cream sauce and fig vinaigrette—so good!). Rob ordered the Forbidden Rice with pork belly and it was also very tasty! We will definitely be back because their desserts also sound right up my alley :)
