Champagne Cocktails

Cheers to the holiday season! Whether you are hosting a New Year’s Eve party or just want to bring a bubbly beverage to a Christmas get-together, these Champagne cocktails are fun, fizzy additions to the festivities.

For a fruity, feminine drink I mixed chilled Champagne with a tangy sorbet. I chose to use raspberry, but passion fruit or orange would taste great, too! It’s a simple recipe that creates a delicious (and pretty!) drink.

{Sorbet Soirèe}

Ingredients

  • 1 tsp sorbet (one for each glass)
  • Chilled Champagne

Scoop sorbet and place into Champagne flute. Slowly top with Champagne.

To complement my pink, feminine drink, I made a more masculine gin-based cocktail for my fiance. His favorite cocktail to make at home is an aviation, so we always have plenty of gin and lemons around the house. I mixed it with a few other ingredients from our bar cart to create this tasty concoction. It was a little strong for me, but he liked it!

{Out With The Old, In With The Gin}

Ingredients

  • 1 piece lemon rind
  • 2 oz. gin
  • 1 oz. St. Germain
  • 3/4 oz. lemon juice
  • 1/3 cup Champagne
  • 1 piece curled lemon rind to garnish

Directions

  1. Use a peeler or knife to peel of a slice of lemon rind, then wipe the rind along the inside of the Champagne flute.
  2. In a shaker filled with ice, combine gin, St. Germain and lemon juice. Shake vigorously for 15 seconds. Strain into the prepared flute and top off with Champagne. Garnish with a lemon twist.
Cheers!
