Remember in last week’s post when I told you that I was obsessed with this cardigan? Well, here it is again. I pretty much wore it constantly while we were in San Diego because it was a little colder than I thought it would be. Luckily the rain stopped after the first day, but it wasn’t the sunny 75-degree weather that comes to mind when you think of southern California. Our hotel was downtown so we did a lot of walking between the various neighborhoods. We had some delicious meals in Gaslamp, explored North Park and enjoyed the gorgeous views from Seaport Village (here is my extensive guide for where to eat and drink in San Diego). Although I do like to see the famous tourist spots when we travel, I like to discover local favorites when it comes to food. I usually find recommendations from bloggers in that area or ask locals while we are there because the authentic, hole-in-the-wall type places usually have better food than the gimmicky tourist traps. It’s also fun to just stumble across places as you are walking around town. Little Italy had a lot of cute cafes and dessert spots, plus a cheese store that looked amazing. Seaport village is also fun to explore because it’s right along the water. We watched the sunset from there one night and it was gorgeous! Since I wanted to be comfortable while we did all of this exploring I stuck with sneakers, skinny jeans and a T-shirt. Backpacks are also my new favorite travel accessory! It’s nice to have my hands free so that I can stop and take photos every 50 feet (Rob loves this…just kidding).
