Say hello to Emmy! I don’t think I’ve shared any photos of our lab mix puppy on the blog yet, but if you follow me on Instagram you’ve seen her in my stories quite a few times. She is almost 7 months old now and is just the sweetest, goofiest girl. Last weekend she joined me and Rob for brunch at The Gulf, which is a fun indoor/outdoor eatery along the water. It had been on my list of places to try ever since we moved here last summer because of the chic, casual atmosphere and menu items that sound amazing! Let’s just say it did not disappoint! First of all, it’s so cute! I love the decorative style and how there is something for everyone—sun, shade, AC, a cute shop, access to the bay, etc. It’s also a great spot to bring your furry friend. Emmy got to meet several other pups!
And the food. OMG. I ordered the grits and grillades, which was delicious! It was super flavorful and I loved the addition of picked peppers and crispy shallots. Rob enjoyed his seared tuna and we also couldn’t pass up the fresh lemonade. These refreshing drinks were exactly what we needed after sitting in the sun for a while! There is also a cool bar (pictured below) that serves craft cocktails, wine and local beers. We definitely plan on coming back for happy hour!
Since it was really hot out, I wore this soft and stretchy shift dress. I’m tempted to buy one of the other eight colors that it comes in as well because it is SO comfortable! It’s the perfect length and the jersey material drapes really nicely. The coral color pairs really well with olive, so I added this silk bandana to complement the dress. I’ll be honest, I ended up tying it around the strap of my purse though because I was too toasty with it on. Simple earrings and necklaces will be the only accessories I’ll be wearing this summer. Emmy agrees. She went with a lovely coral collar from Walmart adorned with a silver bone-shaped ID tag. She topped off the look with a basic front-clip harness from Amazon paired with her go-to black leash. A very stylish and practical pup if I do say so myself ;) Overall it was a very fun family outing and the perfect way to kick off our weekend!
