Hi friends! Welcome back to the blog, I hope you had a great weekend! Normally we are homebodies on our days off, but this weekend was really fun and busy. On Friday night we went to a friend’s going away ice cream party. I mean there’s ice cream, so how could it not be fun?! We contributed a Thin Mint flavor which was delish! Then on Saturday Rob and I went out on a pontoon boat to Crab Island with some friends. It’s not really an island (well I guess it used to be before a hurricane wiped it out), but it’s an underwater sandbar where boats congregate. The water is only a couple of feet deep so you can get out of the boat and easily walk around to the food and drink huts they have anchored there. It’s a crazy party place in the summer, but luckily right now it’s still somewhat quiet. The weather wasn’t ideal and the water was pretty chilly, but it was fun to hang out in the sun! On Sunday we went to brunch at Brotula’s (you can see more in my Destin highlights on Instagram). The seafood was amazing and the harbor view is beautiful. Then we had Emmy’s first training class. She did pretty well since she already knows the basics, but the distractions definitely made it more challenging for her! After an on-the-go weekend I’m ready to hunker down at home and get a lot of work done this week.
Now on to today’s outfit. When I saw one of my favorite bloggers, Kendall from Styled Snapshots wearing these dressy white shorts I hopped online and ordered them immediately! The feminine details, like the bow and scalloped hem are so pretty. Plus the high waist creates a chic, classy look. It took me a few tries before finding the perfect top to pair with them, but ultimately I decided on this blush high-neck top. The color and ruffles complement the shorts to create a super girly look. Then I accessories with some Chanel knockoffs. They still give a sophisticated, designer-ish touch to the outfit without breaking the bank. You could easily wear this look for date night, a girl’s night out or a networking event. The versatility of these shorts make them a favorite in my summer wardrobe!
