I obviously like all of the outfits I post on the blog (and trust me, there are some that we shoot that don’t make the cut), but this might be my all-time favorite look! Seriously, how cute are these gingham shorts?! Gingham has become one of the most popular patterns to wear year-round, but I especially love it during spring and summer! It’s very versatile and the ruffle hem on this pair of shorts makes it look extra girly! To create a feminine look I styled them with a white cami and completed the look with a blush vest. Have you heard of the “third piece” rule? If not, let me summarize: your top and pants/skirt/shorts are the first and second pieces. The third piece is another element that really pulls the look together, like a blazer, sweater, vest or jacket. In this case it’s my sleeveless jacket. Adding this extra item makes the outfit look much more put-together. To dress up this spring outfit even more I accessorized with a sparkly statement necklace. I get a crazy amount of compliments whenever I wear this necklace—not bad for an $18 Nordstrom Rack find! I couldn’t fine the exact style online, but I linked a similar one! For shoes I went with my go to ankle strap sandals, which I’ve also worn with white jeans and dresses. They also come in black, light pink and a few other colors, so I’m tempted to buy another pair!
