During our stay with Rob’s parents in Wyoming, we took a quick trip to Golden, Colorado. We arrived just in time for happy hour and dinner at Teller’s Tap Room. Everything was delicious, especially The Melted Monk, which is basically a grilled cheese with apples and caramelized onions on grilled cranberry walnut raisin bread. We spent the following day in the cute downtown area. After checking out some of the shops, we had lunch at D’Deli which had amazing sandwiches! Our favorite was the Olympian made with buffalo, muenster cheese, chipotle ranch, BBQ, fried onions, mushrooms, jalapeños and peppers—so flavorful with the perfect amount of spice! Okay enough about the food… on to the other fun stuff!

Rob’s favorite part about exploring a new city is checking out the breweries! Our first stop was Mountain Toad Brewing where we sampled a few flavors and enjoyed their patio. Then we went to Golden City Brewery, which I liked even more. Their Mad Molly’s Brown Ale was malty and chocolatey just how I like it! Dark beers with hints of coffee, caramel or chocolate are my favorite.
When I checked the weather before we left, it said it would be around 75 degrees, which seemed cold compared to our 100-degree Vegas temps. I’m glad I packed this skirt, though, because it was around 85 and a little too hot for jeans. I paired it with this soft sweater, which was another one of my Nordstrom Anniversary Sale finds that I finally got to wear! The rust color originally caught my eye, but it was the coziness that sold me! Even though our trip to Golden was short, it was fun to explore a new town!
