Harvest Wine & Food Festival 2018

Last weekend Rob and I attended the Harvest Wine & Food Festival, which is an annual event put on by the Destin Charity Wine Auction Foundation to raise money for children in need in Northwest Florida. The Grand Tasting was so much fun! It took place in the beautiful Cerulean Park in WaterColor and the weather couldn’t have been better! Sometimes I miss “real fall,” but it’s hard to complain about a sunny, 75 degree day in late October. We went with my friend Molly from Destin Duchess and her husband, so we had fun sampling everything and being goofy in the photo booth, which was an Airstream trailer decorated with a gorgeous balloon garland from Mingle. There were more than 250 wines, beers and spirits (don’t worry, I didn’t try them all), plus a variety of food stations featuring barbecue, seafood, and other amazing eats (yes, I think I did try them all). Some of my favorite local restaurants were serving up their specialties, such as Brotula’s, Jackacudas, Slick Lips, and Destin Ice Market 30A. My favorite part of food and wine festivals is always the food. I can’t really tell the difference between wines (unless they’re like really bad), but I LOVE sampling all of the different dishes! I’m guilty of going back for seconds… and thirds. There is a lot of great food along the Emerald Coast, so it’s fun to try them all in one place. Below are some more pics from the event!
