The High-Rise Denim Shorts You Need For Summer

April might be my favorite time of year here in Destin (although October was amazing, too). The spring break crowd has officially cleared out and it’s the calm before the summer tourist storm. It’s been warm without being humid and the gulf has looked extra gorgeous lately—crystal clear and calm. I’ve been living in shorts and breezy tops lately, so this look pretty much sums up my daily uniform. These distressed high-waisted shorts are from Abercrombie and they are officially my second favorite pair I own (I haven’t found anything that can compare to these soft and stretchy boyfriend shorts). The rise is perfect and they are long enough to still cover your butt. I find that a lot of high-rise denim shorts leave your butt cheeks hanging out which is not really my style. At all. I bought them in the black wash and I have also added the medium wash to my shopping bag because I love them that much (just waiting on a good sale to pull the trigger!). A breezy top pairs perfectly with them because you can tuck the front in for a relaxed, yet put together look. And how cute is the lace-up detail on this one?!

If you follow any other bloggers chances are you’ve seen this wood clutch all over Instagram. The “real” Cult Gaia version will set you back $168, but my friend Christina from Little Mrs. Particular found a great knockoff from a local boutique. We were shooting outfit photos together and she was so nice to let me borrow it for this look. It’s the perfect statement clutch for summer!

Also if you’re looking for some slides, be sure to check out Old Navy! I bought this cute bow pair and these double-strap sandals recently. They are really comfy, especially for the price! As always, keep your eye out for a sale because Old Navy switches up their deals daily! I bet you could get them for 30% – 50% off making them under $20. You’ll be seeing this pair on the blog a lot this summer!
