Since this is our first fall in Florida I wasn’t sure what to expect weather-wise. Most of October was pretty hot (80+ degrees), but last weekend sweater weather finally arrived! I’m talking lows in the mid 40s! It doesn’t look like these cozy temps will last too long, though, since we’ll be back up to 80 degrees next week. With this fluctuating weather, I’ve found that shirtdresses are the way to go! They can be layered for cooler days or worn by themselves if it heats up. I got this shirtdress recently from Old Navy for under $30 since they always have some sort of sale going on! It’s really soft and comfy, plus the colors and pattern are very versatile (and it comes in three other colors!). I typically wear a small or xs at Old Navy depending on the fit, and with this dress I went with the xs since it’s a little boxy. The length is still perfect—not too short in front, and longer in the back. You could wear it with bare legs or tights/leggings.
My favorite way to style a shirtdress for fall is with heeled booties! These were a recent purchase since the pair I wore last year got too much love. I wear cognac-colored booties almost every day during the fall/winter, so they usually get pretty scuffed up (here are 10 ways I’ve stayed them!). I love that this pair dips in the front because the little bit of skin peeking through makes your legs look longer. They work well with skinny jeans, boyfriend jeans, skirts and dresses. Plus they are under $100!
I’m all about light layers during the fall, whether I need them or not! Even though I didn’t need this vest for warmth, it sure added a lot to the look! Olive green vests and jackets are a must for fall. It’s a neutral color that looks really chic styled with stripes, plaid and cognac-colored accessories. This utility-style vest is from Banana Republic a couple years ago, but I linked a couple similar styles below!

This shirtdress will definitely be a staple in my fall wardrobe. It’s easy to throw on in the morning without much thought, plus it pairs well with almost everything in my closet!
