As you can tell by the colorful leaves on the ground, I clearly didn’t take these photos recently. These were taken on our Thanksgiving trip to North Carolina. With a crazy amount of holiday content and then my site having issues I never got around to sharing it! However it’s still very relevant because I’ve been wearing this outfit non-stop this fall and winter. It’s never too cold here in Florida (although yesterday was a rare 27 degrees), so this J.Crew Excursion Vest is the perfect layering piece. I had been eyeing it for quite some time and finally put it on my Christmas list last year. It’s one of those pieces that J.Crew has every year, just like this wool coat. A quilted down vest is a wardrobe staple and the classic style is here to stay! It comes in a variety of colors (see them all here), but I opted for ivory because it goes with everything.
You know I’m all about versatile items and the J.Crew Excursion vest is just that! It can be worn a variety of ways although I tend to wear mine with a sweater, skinny jeans and booties. This sweater is from Abercrombie and caught my eye because of the burgundy color and puff sleeves. I like that the vest lets me show off the fun sleeves unlike a coat. And if you haven’t been to Abercrombie in a while it’s back and better than ever! Seriously, so many stylish pieces that are on trend and much more mature than what you wore in high school. I also found this cable knit sweater from there and wear it all the time (you can see how I styled it here)! It would also work really well under this vest. Basically anything will because it’s the BEST! Cute, cozy and warm—everything you need in a great piece of outerwear :)
