Tweed coats are always popular this time of year and although this fabric can sometimes be associated with your grandparents or a college professor, it can also look really chic! I came across this tweed coat at ZARA and I love how the leather details give it an edgier, youthful vibe. The frayed hem and metallic studs on the pockets are also fun details that make this classic cloth more modern. To create a festive look perfect for a holiday happy hour I paired the jacket with a velvet cami. The mix of textures creates a really fresh look and would also be cute with some leather leggings. This tank is an easy way to add a subtle touch of velvet because it’s only $12 and the cranberry color is so pretty! I topped off the outfit with a ladylike purse and some sleek booties. A tweed coat is definitely worth the investment because you’ll wear it year after year, especially if it’s a classic cut and color. And not all Chanel-inspired jackets have designer price tags. Mine was $130 and I’ve seen plenty of other coats in this fashionable fabric for under $150.

Beautiful mix of textures with the tweed and velvet! I have a couple of tweed blazers from Zara too, they make some awesome ones! :)
Hope you had a wonderful Christmas and you have a happy new year :)

I have a similar tweet jacket I purchased from Boohoo many years ago but didn’t know how to wear it. I didn’t like to wear it with jeans, looked awful nor with a skirt. I never think about wearing it with black pants, it will probably look nice! Thanks for the inspiration! x
