With wedding season in full swing, I have realized that I don’t own that many cocktail dresses. My style is pretty casual and the dresses I do wear on a regular basis are typically lightweight sundresses. Plus Rob and I don’t have many occasions throughout the year to dress up for, so why spend the money on something I’ll wear only once or twice? Of course I love beautiful dresses, but I’d rather spend $100 on an item I would wear almost every day, like jeans or shoes. However, this spring I splurged on a couple of nice dresses, like a lace midi dress that I wore to a wedding in Connecticut (seen in this post). The other one I purchased was this pretty little black dress, which was perfect for the bachelorette party and rehearsal dinner for that same wedding. There are so many things about this dress that caught my eye: the layered lace, high neckline, sheer panels and the fact that it looks like a Self Portrait dress for under $100! When I tried it on and it fit like a glove I knew it had to be mine. Even my sister, who usually hates the trendy, frilly things that I wear, loved it! This little black dress was definitely a great find and I think it will work for a variety of occasions.
