Happy almost St. Patrick’s Day! For a festive sweet, I decided to make some Lucky Charms treats. I used the basic recipe for Rice Krispies Treats, but used Lucky Charms instead. If you’re looking for a last-minute snack, this recipe is perfect because it only takes three ingredients and can be made in under 30 minutes. Now go find some green in your closet! It’s not always an easy task for me. Isn’t there a day that we are supposed to wear pink? Well Wednesdays, I guess. If you don’t get that reference, then you can’t sit with us!*
Lucky Charms Treats
Ingredients
- 6 cups Lucky Charms
- 4 Tbsp. unsalted butter
- 10 oz. bag of marshmallows
Directions
- Lightly coat a 9 x 13 baking dish with non-stick spray and set aside. Then measure the cereal into a large bowl and set aside.
- Melt the butter in a large saucepan over low heat. Add marshmallows and stir continuously with a wooden spoon until melted.
- Remove from heat and add cereal. Use a spatula to gently coat the Lucky Charms with the melted marshmallows. Transfer to the prepared baking dish. Coat a spatula or your hands with non-stick spray, then gently press down on the cereal. Don’t use too much force because that will cause it to be too hard. Let the treats set for at least one hour at room temperature before cutting.
