Over Memorial Day Weekend Rob and I met up with some friends in Texas. We flew into Dallas and then took a road trip down to Austin, so of course we had to see Fixer Upper’s Magnolia Market in Waco! Our husbands weren’t thrilled about this pit stop, but my friend and I were totally fan girling. It’s just as picture perfect as it looks on TV: large lawn, string lights, multiple food trucks, gorgeous garden and adorable home décor store. The only downside was the crazy amount of people and going the Friday before Memorial Day Weekend probably wasn’t the best idea. It’s amazing to see how Chip and Joanna have turned Waco into a must-see destination. The people we met there had come specifically to see Magnolia Market and the line for the bakery was out the door (about a 30 minute wait). We weren’t able to stay too long, so I didn’t try any of the baked goods or food trucks but everything sure looked delicious! We also perused the store where they had a ton of cute home items and Magnolia souvenirs. It’s a really cool family-friendly place to stop and is very Instagram-worthy! Honestly I don’t know if I would make a trip just to see this, but it worked out perfectly for us since it was right off of the freeway on the way to Austin. Also, be prepared for humid heat! I had worn jeans and a cardigan on the flight and changing into a skirt before going here was the best decision because that sun just beats down on you! This black denim skirt was only $35 and comes in 3 other colors. Below are more outfit details and pics from our quick trip!
