MIXTBOX: Fashion Boutique in a Box

If you’ve been reading my blog for a while you might remember my Boutique of the Week series. It would highlight local boutiques since I love finding unique pieces at locally owned stores. I haven’t kept up with it since there aren’t a lot of boutiques in Las Vegas and I realized one every week was a little too ambitious. However, the owner of two previously featured boutiques reached out to me about trying her new subscription fashion service, MIXTBOX, and I was more than happy to support a local female entrepreneur! You start by taking a survey with your sizes and style preferences, then receive a box full of personalized pieces on your doorstep. It’s free shipping both ways and there is no styling fee, so you only pay for the items you want to keep and then return the rest. Honestly, I wasn’t sure what to expect because I’m really picky about clothing, but I loved quite a few items in my MIXTBOX! There was a super soft cold-shoulder top (the brand was Freeloader, which we carried at the boutique I worked at in Seattle and it was always one of my favorites!). I also love the burgundy skirt that has a suede-like texture and fit perfectly! You can see how I styled it on my Instagram for the Hallo-Wine walk a couple weeks ago. My other favorite item was a detangling hairbrush similar to The Wet Brush that I swear by.

Below is the cold shoulder shirt I was talking about! It’s perfect for a casual weekend look because it’s super soft and still stylish. In addition to the shoulder cutouts, the asymmetrical hem also makes it a really unique piece. I styled it with distressed boyfriend jeans and lace-up flats for a Sunday of running errands. To add a touch of fall, I topped it off with a printed infinity scarf. This colorblock clutch has been one of my favorite purchases this fall and although it’s not available in this color combination anymore, I just saw it at Nordstrom in two new colors! It’s still available and only $25! They look almost exactly like this Clare V. foldover clutch, but for fraction of the price ($210 less to be exact).
