While we were in Nashville we explored a lot of the city, not just the tourist attractions downtown. One of my favorite neighborhoods was 12 South because there were so many trendy restaurants, cute boutiques and fun street art. Plus everyone is really friendly, so it’s an all-around great atmosphere. We started the day with cronuts at Five Daughters Bakery (you can see more of that amazingness in this post). The bakery itself is so cute and the cronuts are a must-try!
After getting a sweet start, we walked up and down 12th Ave to check out the cute shops. White’s Mercantile, a modern general store, and Cadeau Nashville both had a lot of stylish home décor and gift items with some rustic charm. Inside an old service station, imogene + willie is a cute clothing store with a great selection of denim, plus there was the cutest mobile flower shop outside called Amelia’s Flower Truck. You could select the flowers and greenery to create your own bouquet and the cute VW vehicle just begs to be Instagrammed. I was also really excited to go to Draper James, which is Reese Witherspoon’s clothing store, but it was closed for a private event :( I later saw on Instagram that Reese was actually inside the store for the special occasion! Instead of shopping I settled for a pic of the pretty striped storefront.
^ Those locally made Goo Goo Clusters are delicious!
For lunch we went to bartaco since we heard their margaritas and street tacos were delicious! They definitely were and I really liked the casual, modern atmosphere.
Before heading back to our hotel we stopped at Jeni’s Splendid Ice Cream for me (the brown butter almond brittle flavor is AMAZING!) and The Filling Station for Rob where he tried some local beer.
There were so many more restaurants I wanted to try, so I would love to make a trip back to Nashville! Do you guys have any spots that I missed? Also, stay tuned for my last Nashville Travel Diary post coming soon :)
