Last weekend I attended a blogger beauty brunch at Neiman Marcus complete with delicious bites (like macarons and Nutella-stuffed French toast) and a beautiful view of the Las Vegas Strip. We got the chance to talk with product specialists about their best-selling items and exclusive holiday gift sets. I was so impressed by the seven brands that were there and loved testing out some of the products! I’m so excited to share my favorite picks and present ideas for the beauty lovers in your life!
Gucci. These products are all very rich in pigment, whether it’s a lip gloss, bronzer or eye shadow. I was really impressed by the bronzer palette that allows for buildable color. Being very pale, I always start light and work my way up since it can easily become too dark. Another product I want to try is their eyeliner. I’ve never attempted the winged look, but this liner dries quickly and has a sponge tip which makes it a great product for beginners.
Fresh. This line has so many cute gift ideas. As someone who always has chapstick on hand, I am a big fan of the Sugar Lip Treatment. It feels and smells amazing, plus it has SPF for those of us living in sunny locations. Their chocolate exfoliator is also a must-try. I wish it was edible because it smells that good!
Jo Malone. These unisex fragrances all smell amazing! I love the nectarine blossom and honey scent, which is very light and not overpowering. The fragrances can also be layered to create a unique scent that’s all your own. This limited edition collection is a perfect gift or stocking stuffer! Plus they also sell candles, lotions, soaps, diffusers for your home, linen spray and more.
Creed. This family-owned business is 250 years old and focuses on essential oil fragrances for both men and women. If you need a gift for him, definitely give their Aventus (meaning “success”) fragrance a try. For her, their Love In White with scents of sandalwood and vanilla is a great pick. They also launched Royal Princess Oud a few weeks ago, which is a very seductive, captivating and passionate scent. Another great gift is their atomizer, which is perfect for travel since it’s small enough to carry on planes and can be refilled.
La Mer. This luxury skin care line includes exceptional skin renewal products. I tried the renewal oil and it soaks right into the skin to create a radiant, hydrated complexion. A couple drops go a long way and are perfect to mix in with your foundation. We also sampled the Essence, which is a three-week treatment that renews your skin by making it think it’s sleeping for 21 days. It’s priced at only $2,400 (like what?!?!?), but it did feel amazing.
Kevyn Aucoin. These timeless makeup staples make high-glamour looks work for everyday wear. The beauty line includes skin enhancing foundations, professional brushes, volumizing mascara and more. If you want a taste of these products, The Essentials Collection is a good place to start. The NM-exclusive gift set includes 10 shadows, a mascara and four lip glosses.
Tom Ford. First of all, the black and gold packaging is gorgeous and the products themselves are just as amazing. I love the Lips and Boys lipsticks and when you buy three at Neiman Marcus they come in this exclusive case, which is perfect for gift giving! They also just released these makeup bags, which come in three sizes and range from $550 – $790 (a little steep, but they are such good quality!).
