My Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Buys

There are only four more days to shop the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale! I’m sure you’re sick of hearing about it, but since this is the last week/weekend for the discounted prices I wanted to share reviews of what I purchased. It’s easy to put up a collage of things you might like, but I thought tips on the sizing/quality of some items might be more helpful. So without further ado, here are the items that I found worthy of spending my paycheck on.

Sole Society Backpack: I wasn’t so sure about the backpack trend at first, but then I realized they would be so practical (and stylish) while traveling. As much as I love hands-free crossbody bags, most of them are too small for my big DSLR camera. This, however, fits my camera and then some! It looks a little stiff in the photos online, but when it came in the mail I was pleased to find that the faux leather is really soft! It’s a great color and I love the tassels! Although this one is sold out, this BP backpack for only $35 is another great option.

Barbour ‘Millfire’ Hooded Quilted Jacket: This was my splurge of the sale. I jumped on it the first day of early access and it has been sold out ever since. The dusty pink color makes the outerwear look very feminine, plus the quilted style and plaid lining are fun details. There are still some similar styles available, like this Vince Camuto quilted coat or this Ralph Lauren quilted anorak jacket.

Joe’s Skinny Jeans: As you saw in this post, I’m loving the dark skinny jeans I purchased! They are comfortable, fit like a glove and have the perfect wash. This is the time to purchase designer denim because many pairs are 50% off.

Sweaters: My go-to recipe for a fall/winter look is skinny jeans, booties and a soft, cozy sweater. I picked up this mock-neck sweater in a light caramel color and it looked a little boxy online so I wasn’t sure if I’d like it, but it fits really nicely and is so cozy! The other sweater I bought was this pullover and it is unbelievable soft! Although it looks a little too simple, I was sold once I tried it on because it was so comfortable! It will be a great piece to wear under a vest or with a plaid blanket scarf once the weather cools down.

White Denim Shirt (still available in most sizes, including XS and S!). I wear the crap out of my chambray shirt, so I thought adding a white one to my closet would be a good idea. It’s lightweight, soft and perfect for creating a chic, minimalist look.

Vince Camuto Over the Knee Boots (still available in all sizes!). Okay, this one I’m not so sure about. I love the color, feel and quality of the leather, but I’m just undecided about the top part of them. They sort of remind me of waders you’d wear while fishing. I’m torn because otherwise I love them! What do you guys think? Let me know in the comments!
