How I Created an Office Space for Blogging

I’m so excited to share my new blogging space with you! We have an extra bedroom in our house that has just been used for storage, so I decided to give it a little makeover and create my own mini office. The white walls and empty space created a blank slate just waiting to be transformed. I came across this cool coworking company called WeWork, which inspired me to create a modern, stylish office space. I’ve been trying to dedicate more time to Treats and Trends, so it was about time I created an inspirational, distraction-free area. I call it my “woman cave” because it’s the one spot in our home that I don’t have to worry about what Rob thinks (he gives me a hard time for the throw pillows and pointless decorations I buy). Now he has his man cave with Air Force memorabilia and I have my room filled with pink, gold and girly things.

First up was finding a white writing desk. I searched high and low for a quality desk that was in my price range and was thrilled to find this desk on sale at Target. It’s sleek and simple with just the right amount of storage. All I really need is room for my laptop and never-ending to-do lists. I also stacked a few of my favorite books and adorned it with some succulents and a jewelry holder.

The bulletin board was a fun DIY project. It used to be brown and a little beaten up, so I painted the frame coral and then covered the cork with chevron-patterned fabric. Then I came across these gold foil prints at Paper Source to hang on it. I also added some pictures for a personal touch. The painted flower pot was also a DIY project, here’s the link to that post!

Next up is organizing the rest of the room. I would love to find a patterned rug to add a pop of color and a white bookshelf for storage. I’m always on the lookout for sales since furniture can be pretty pricy.

Thanks for the ideas and inspiration, WeWork!
