Instructions
For the doughnuts
  1. Preheat oven to 350F. Use nonstick spray to lightly grease the doughnut pan.
  2. In a small saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter. Swirl pan occasionally so that the butter is cooking evenly. When it starts to have a nutty aroma and turns a golden brown color, remove from stove and transfer to a heatproof bowl to cool.
  3. In a medium bowl, whisk together the cake flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt and cinnamon.
  4. In a large bow, whisk the eggs, buttermilk, vanilla and butter until combined. Gently fold in the dry ingredients and mix just until smooth. Transfer to a piping bag and cut off the tip. Evenly fill the prepared doughnut pan about 3/4 of the way full. Bake for about 10 minutes, until firm. Transfer to cooling rack for a few minutes while you prepare the topping.
For the topping
  1. Brown the butter as you did in the first step. While it’s melting, mix together the sugar, cinnamon and allspice.
  2. Brush browned butter onto the doughnuts, then dip them into the cinnamon sugar mixture. Repeat until all have been coated. Enjoy!
