Instructions
For the cinnamon rolls
  1. In a large pot combine milk, oil and sugar. Heat over medium until just before boiling. Turn off heat and let cool until it reached about 110 degrees (it will be just warm to the touch). Sprinkle yeast on top and let sit for 1 – 2 minute. Add 2 cups of flour and stir with a wooden spoon until combined.
  2. Cover with plastic wrap and let sit for 1 hour to rise. You can either leave it on the stove (with the oven on if your house is cold) or place it in a warm area of your house. The dough should double in size.
  3. In a small bowl whisk together remaining 1/4 cup of flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Add to dough and stir with a wooden spoon until combined.
  4. On a lightly floured surface, roll out the dough until you have a 12″ x 8″ rectangle. Evenly spread the browned butter over the dough. Sprinkle with brown sugar and cinnamon.
  5. Starting with the long edge farthest from you, roll the dough towards you until it is tightly coiled and the seam is facing down. Use a sharp knife to cut it into 8 even rolls. Place in a greased 9″ round cake pan.
  6. Preheat oven to 375F and let cinnamon rolls sit on the counter for about 20 minutes, until they have slightly risen. Then bake for about 20 minutes until golden brown on top. Start on the cream cheese frosting while they bake because you’ll want to put it on while the rolls are warm.
For the cream cheese frosting
  1. In the bowl of a standing mixer, beat the butter and cream cheese on medium speed until light and fluffy.
  2. Add one cup of powdered sugar, the vanilla, lemon juice and salt. Mix until combined. Add milk if it’s too thick.
  3. Use a rubber spatula to frost the cinnamon rolls while they are warm, then serve! Enjoy :)
