Romantic Things to Do in Destin, Florida

Sunset Dolphin Cruise. Watch the sunset and spot these majestic creatures as you sail along the Gulf of Mexico. There are several companies, including Southern Star Dolphin Cruise, that can take you on this exciting excursion. Even as a local, seeing dolphins swimming and jumping in the water never gets old! 

Date Night Dinners. Destin boasts a plethora of amazing restaurants, but many of them have casual, beachy vibes. If you want a romantic atmosphere and excuse to dress up, give these Destin restaurants a try:

• Mimmo’s if you feel like Italian food and wine.
• Bitterroot for high-end cuisine and cocktails in a trendy atmosphere.
• Soleil for beachfront dining and coastal cuisine. Make a reservation for outdoors around sunset!
• Marina Cafe for a beautiful view of the harbor and delicious food (also check out their happy hour and 2-for-1 special).
• The Wine Bar has an award-winning wine list and extensive selection of artisan cheese used to create custom charcuterie boards.
• BeachWalk Cafe is located within the charming Henderson Park Inn and offers fine dining paired with Gulf views. 

Parasailing. Take your love to new heights with a parasailing adventure! It’s a great way to get out on the water and enjoy a bird’s-eye view of the Emerald Coast. 

Charter a Catamaran or Sailboat. There’s nothing like a salty breeze, colorful sunset and glass of wine to kick off a romantic evening. Book a cruise with one of the many companies that set sail from Destin Harbor. You can usually bring your own food and drinks for a fun picnic on the water!

Dinner Cruise. Enjoy fine dining and stunning scenery as you set sail on the SOLARIS yacht. This 125-foot yacht boasts three decks and is also a popular wedding venue. Their weekly dinner cruises feature a three-course meal, live music, dancing and beautiful views. 

Wine and Cheese at Your Vacation Rental. If you prefer a relaxing night in, pick up a nice bottle of wine and order a charcuterie board from Graze 30A or another local company. Cozy up on the couch or watch the sunset from your beachfront balcony.

End the Evening on a Sweet Note. Stop by Pink Coyote Dessert Co. for the best ice cream in town! It’s freshly made with high-quality ingredients and is located on the bay so you’ll have a wonderful view of the sunset! 

Beach Picnic for Two. Want to dine al fresco on the sand? There are multiple companies in the area that will set up luxury picnics for you. Whether you want a boho style or classic romance with rose petals, they can design the tablescape, decor and menu based on your preferences. Visit 30A. Scenic Highway 30A is a 24-mile corridor that runs parallel to the Gulf of Mexico. Along this route you’ll come across numerous beach communities, all with unique characteristics. Make sure to stop by Seaside, Alys Beach and Rosemary Beach. 

Stay at Henderson Park Inn. This adults-only beachfront escape combines the coastal charm of an intimate inn with the luxurious amenities of an elevated resort. Enjoy stunning views from the comfort of your room, head downstairs for a wonderful meal at BeachWalk Cafe or cozy up by the fire pit as you watch the sunset. You’ll also have access to the pools at The Henderson Resort (one features a lazy river and lagoon-style entry while the other is an adults-only spot where you can peacefully relax).
