One of my favorite parts of wedding planning has been picking out cute stationery. Save the dates and invitations give guests the first glimpse of your wedding, so it’s important that they reflect the ceremony and reception, while also representing you as a couple. Shutterfly has a trendy selection that is sure to match a variety of wedding styles. They make it easy to customize your stationery to help make your event even more memorable and have a personal feel. After looking at a variety of save the dates, these are a few trends that I’m loving.
Foil-Stamped. I’m obsessed with gold foil on everything right now, so I was excited to see that this metallic look has carried over to wedding stationery and décor. Silver and red foil are also fun options depending on your color palette.
Unique Trim and Sizes. Save the dates and invitations don’t have to be rectangular. Scalloped, ticket, bracket or rounded trims add a trendy touch. Another option is to use 3/4-fold or trifold formats.
Shimmery Paper. Pearl shimmer card stock is an elegant option, especially if your wedding is going to be a fancy affair. I like that it still has a matte finish, so it’s not too shiny.
Photos. Having a photo as the background is another popular option. This is the perfect chance to put those adorable engagement photos to good use!
Back Design. I like that these save the dates have the option to add text or a photo to the back of the card. I wouldn’t want to ruin the beautiful layout on the front with additional information, such as the URL to our website.
