Striped Sundress in Seaside

Maybe it’s because I was born and raised on the West Coast, but before we moved to Destin I had never heard of 30A and didn’t realize it was such a hot spot. Celebrities from Nashville own houses down here, numerous bloggers I follow have vacationed here this spring and even my cousins who live in Texas plan to road trip out here in July. I totally understand why it’s so popular. The beaches are stunning and the charming towns along the coast are the perfect escape from city life. Seaside is one of my favorite towns, which is where The Truman Show with Jim Carrey was filmed. It’s made up of pastel houses lined with picket fences, a cluster of amazing shops and restaurants, the cutest little post office you’ll ever see, and of course the beautiful beach. Their slogan is “New Town, Old Ways” and being there does make you feel like you stepped back in time to simpler, stress-free days.

I feel like this striped sundress was made for Saturdays in Seaside—strolling the farmers market, getting brunch (followed by ice cream!) and shopping at the cute boutiques. It’s casual and flowy yet has a retro, nautical look. The cut is super flattering and I’m a sucker for sweetheart necklines! Plus it has a cute peekaboo back detail. For a beachy look I paired it with a round rattan bag and espadrille wedges. Clearly these aren’t ideal for walking in the sand, but it’s a perfect way to dress up this look for a date day. Rob and I don’t get over to Seaside as often as I’d like (it’s about 35 minutes from our house), so when we do head over there we make a day out of it! If you get the chance to visit make sure to drive down 30A to see Alys Beach and Rosemary beach, too! They are all really different from each other and SO gorgeous.
