Summer Work Outfit

Summer work outfits can be a struggleΒ because it’s uncomfortablyΒ hot outside, but the air-conditioned office can get kind of chilly. I have found that the key to balancing this temperature discrepancy is layers. I like to wear a dress that can be business lookingΒ with a blazer and also worn without one for the second I step out the door. I mean who wants to be confined to dress pants and a button up shirt when you get into a blazing hot car at 5pm!?

This dress is from theΒ Who What Wear line for Target, whichΒ completelyΒ gets my style (you can also see their lace top styledΒ hereΒ andΒ here). What I love most about this dress (other than theΒ stripesβ€”duh), is the length! A lot of my sundresses that could be dressed up with a professional-looking jacket are slightly too short. This one hits right at the knee and has slits on the side to make it even breezier for those sweltering temperatures. The tied waist makes it more form fitting, plus the vertical stripes are so flattering. I finished my go-to summer work outfitΒ with someΒ block-heel sandals, which have been my stapleΒ shoe style this summer. They are comfy, let your feet breathe and still look business-like.
