Are you guys enjoying the Olympics?! Honestly I prefer the winter games mainly because of figure skating, but I am really excited to watch the women’s gymnastics team! They killed it last night! To get into the spirit I made some USA-themed treats, which could also work for 4th of July, Memorial Day and other American holidays. These red, white and blue sweets are really simple to make and perfect for a viewing party!
Brownies with Cream Cheese Frosting & Berries. I made this patriotic dessert for a 4th of July party after seeing a recipe from What’s Gaby Cooking that looked delicious and festive! Although she uses homemade brownies, I used my favorite boxed mix to make it even easier. Then I made the frosting by hand and topped it with berries. Get the recipe here!
Brown Butter Berry Rice Krispies. Remember this recipe that I made for Memorial Day? It’s also a great treat to serve while cheering on your favorite sport! With freeze dried berries and white chocolate drizzle, it includes all of our patriotic colors. Just be careful because they are addicting! Click here for the full recipe.
White Chocolate Dipped Strawberries. This chocolate-dipped fruit instantly looks festive when displayed on a red, white and blue plate. I used Ghirardelli White Melting Wafers, which smoothly coated the strawberries and didn’t get all clumpy when melting it in the microwave. Start by lining a cookie sheet with wax paper, then wash and dry the strawberries. Now all you have to do is melt the wafters according to the package, dip the strawberries and place on the prepared cookie sheet. Once they are all dipped, place in the fridge to harden for at least 30 minutes.
Do you plan on making any Olympic-themed treats in the next couple of weeks? I would love to hear about your favorite recipes!
