The Perfect Outfit For A Waterfront Brunch

Last weekend Rob and I were treated to brunch at Sunset Bay Cafe in Sandestin and it was delicious! I had been wanting to check it out because it has a gorgeous pool deck and view of the bay. Plus the whole menu looks heavenly. Brunches around here have a heavy southern and seafood influence and aren’t your standard eggs and bacon (although you can still find that). I ordered the eggs Benedict made with fried soft shell crab and cajun hollandaise sauce, which was very flavorful! Their Hillbilly Benedict also sounds amazing because it’s made with smoked gouda fried grit cakes and fried chicken. Yum!! Rob went with standard shrimp and grits although they were far from average! The shrimp was cooked perfectly and I loved the smoked gouda cheese grits. Oh and I forgot to mention we started off with a huge cinnamon roll topped with orange cream cheese frosting. Plus a strawberry mimosa for me and Bloody Mary for Rob. So yea we pretty much didn’t need to eat the rest of the day haha.

Since it was a little chilly that morning I decided to wear jeans instead of a sundress or skirt. I feel like such a wimp saying it was “cold” because it was probably like 60 degrees, but the wind off of the water made it feel worse. I paired these white skinny jeans with one of my favorite new tops for spring! This sleeveless blouse has the cutest ruffle trim, tassels and subtle pattern. It’s somewhat flowy and perfect for tucking in to high waisted jeans. These photos don’t really do it justice because the wind was blowing it around, but it fit perfectly with the nautical, beachy vibe I was going for. I finished off the outfit with a pair of espadrille wedge sandals, which are a staple for spring and summer. They go with everything and are much more comfortable than heels! This is an old pair from Topshop, so I’ve linked some similar options below. You can also see how I styled them with a white dress in this post.
