It’s no secret that trends come and go and then come back again. Things I wore in elementary or middle school, like jean skirts with tennis shoes, denim overalls and choker necklaces have been a few things to cycle through recently. But of course there are items that I see in old photos and can’t believe that they were ever stylish (like those pants from Limited Too that zipped off into capris and/or shorts, anyone else have a pair of those?!). One trend I love right now, but will probably laugh at in the years to come is statement sleeves. I currently love the unique, feminine styles, but I wonder if these will make the list of clothing styles that we think are hideous in about 10 years. For this reason I never like to spend a fortune on trendy items. I’m all about trying new styles and pieces outside of my comfort zone, but when I do I look at stores like Target or T.J.Maxx. This bell sleeve top is part of the Who What Wear line for Target and was under $30! I had been eyeing an almost identical top by Endless Rose, but was much happier to find a cheaper option. There is also a dress version of this top that is really cute and both items also come in black!

I too am loving the bell sleeve trend. I am very picky about what I wear and I asked myself the same thing: will i regret this in , 10, 15 years? and ultimately the answer was NO! If you look back through time, 70’s, and 90’s and now today, you will find this trend has resurfaced a few times, and it’s for a reason. Bell sleeves are romantic, feminine, dramatic and add instant interest to an outfit. Many of the trends that we are seeing now (off-the-shoulder, ruffle, floral and even last Fall’s plaid grunge) were huge in the nineties, which I wore in my 20’s! I’m happy to see them back and I am happier that I’m still young enough and still look good in them. A big part of it also has to do with who you are as a dresser. In other words, what (I like to call) is your “dressing ID?” Are you a trend setter? are you classic? are you boho? For instance I go from corporate, to “mom clothes,” to boho. whoever you are as a dresser be true to your style and you won’t have too much to regret. And remember fashion is supposed to FUN. Fashion is what you buy, but style is who you are.
Yes trends come and go, but I share your obsession for this trend right now. They are just the right piece to add drama to any outfit.

I’m for sure going to laugh at myself in ten years. And yes I absolutely had those Limited Too pants (with the matching fake layered long sleeve white tee under a polo shirt to go with it haha).

Statement sleeves are fun! I think they’re done in a classic manner now. Less like Teen Witch or St. Elmo’s Fire style.

I can appreciate a trend or two if it means not splurging, I think you found a good find though :D

Totally agree with you! I love statement sleeves too, but then I look at wedding gowns from the 80s and laugh at the ridiculous sleeves they have on them
