Spring and Summer 2017 Trend: Thin Stripes

Spring and Summer 2017 Trend: Thin Stripes, Banana Republic blouse, ruffle sleeves, fashion blog, Treats and Trends

Last week I attended MAGIC, which is a big fashion convention here in Las Vegas. Basically ever brand imaginable convenes at this marketplace to showcase styles for the upcoming seasons and sell wholesale items to retailers. It was so fun to walk through the booths and check out what trends will be big for spring and summer. I saw a lot of choker tops/dresses, floral prints, embroidery, cold shoulders and bell sleeves. Thin stripes were also everywhere! This style isn’t exactly groundbreaking since stripes never go out of style, but the most common combination seemed to be blue and white. A lot of these pieces also had floral embroidery on them, which made them look really modern and fresh. Personally I love the classic, nautical-inspired pattern and recently picked up this ruffle sleeve top from Banana Republic and an easy breezy tank from Target (you’ll be seeing them on the blog soon!).

My other favorite part of MAGIC was the speakers. I love learning and constantly listen to podcasts about blogging, marketing and entrepreneurship. When I saw Jen Gotch from Ban.do on the list of panelists I was beyond excited to learn some of her marketing tips. I have followed her on Instagram for a while and she is so quirky and funny! Her personality definitely transfers over to her brand and creates a fresh, fun and unconventional way of marketing. I was able to meet her after and was definitely fangirling inside. I also enjoyed the seminar by a couple bloggers who talked about working with brands. The audience was primary retailers, so they were talking about what they like when working with companies. It was interesting to listen to this point of view because normally I learn about what brands like from bloggers, not vice versa.   Overall it was a great learning experience and I enjoyed being surrounded by fashion! Below are some more pieces with thin stripes that I’m loving. Just click the images below for details!
