Top 10 Fall Trends at the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale 2017

The best shopping event of the year is finally here—the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale! A lot of bloggers have already been posting about how to shop the sale, so I’ll spare you the details since it’s pretty simple. Early access begins today for Nordstrom cardholders and it opens up to everyone on July 21. There are a ton of new arrivals for fall that already have reduced price tags! Popular products tend to sell our quickly, so act fast while your favorite items are still available! Last year this coat sold out on the first day of early access in the pretty pink color I have. we are traveling to Seattle today so I plan on taking advantage of the in-store pick-up option. I added a few items to my cart while putting together this post and purchased them online so that I can reserve my size and try them on when we get there this afternoon. There are a lot of great basics to stock up on plus some trendy items that are fun to mix into your wardrobe. Most of the trends have already been around for the past few seasons, but they have a fresh spin for fall. Here are the top 10 fall trends that I’m seeing at the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale this year. Booties are always a staple for fall. This year a lot of the styles have block heels, which I love since they are cute and comfy! The blush colored 1.STATE booties are definitely in my shopping cart! The perforated and cutaway style will keep my feet somewhat cool since I doubt I’ll be wearing fall clothes in Florida. There are a lot of other fun details on the sale booties, such as zippers, open heel, peep toe and embellishments.

Lush textures like velvet, satin and leather are very popular for the upcoming season. Go for  a feminine look with a satin, floral-print slipdress or add some edge with a leather moto jacket. There are also a ton of items made with velvet, like skirts, jackets, shoes and purses.

Ruffles. This feminine style isn’t going anywhere! Its on everything from skirts and shift dresses to button-up tops and sweatshirts.

Long cardigans and vests and the perfect layering pieces for fall. The longer length creates a very elongated, sleek look. If you want to splurge on a cashmere cardigan, this is the time to do it!

Slip-on shoes. Whether they are mules, backless loafers or slip-on sneakers, these stylish shoes are comfy and convenient. I bought a couple pairs of loafers last season, so I’m excited that they are still on-trend! Velvet and embellishments give this season’s shoes a glam style.

Plaid is always a fall favorite. This classic pattern can be seen on several sale items, such as skirts, blouses and top coats.

Statement sleeves have been a blogger obsession for quite some time now—bell sleeves, ruffle sleeves, cold shoulders, etc. I love pairing this voluminous tops with skinny jeans and sleek booties for a streamlined look.

Pleats. Pleated midi skirts have been around for a couple years now and they are back again for 2017! With fall hues and luxe textures, they are perfect for transitioning your summer wardrobe into autumn. Several tops also sport this detail, such as the sweater with pleated bell sleeves below.

Detailed denim. The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is the best time to stock of up designer denim. I bought my favorite pair of Joe’s skinny jeans last year for under $100! A lot of the jeans this season have unique hems: raw hem, released hem, step hem, split hem… you name it. The trendy details perfectly show off a pair of booties!

Ties and bows. One of my favorite summer trends has been tie-front tops and dresses. For fall, I’ve noticed that several sweaters have this detail as well. There are also sweaters that tie on the sides and button-up tops with tied sleeves.
