Two Must-Have White T-Shirts

Is it just me or is finding the perfect white T-shirt like finding the perfect pair of jeans? Neither is easy! A quality tee is a must-have item when creating a versatile, classic wardrobe. I tried on a bunch during my last trip to the mall, but they were either too sheer, an unflattering cut, too clingy or an awkward length. I continued my search online and bought a couple from Nordstrom with my fingers crossed! Hey if they didn’t work out at least it’s free shipping and easy to return. When they arrived I was pleasantly surprised because both were great in their own ways!

I was looking for a looser, slouchier fit which both have. Plus I like that they both have a pocket since it adds a little more detail to the top. This Madewell tee ($19) has a great V-neck and is really lightweight. It has a slight burnout pattern so I wore a cami underneath, but it’s not overly sheer. I also like that the length is the same all the way around and I’m able to tuck it into high-waisted jeans.

This Lush tee was a major hit at the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. It sold out during early access and was never restocked in white—until now! I love the high-low hem, which works perfectly with mid-rise denim. Plus it’s soooo soft! It will be perfect to wear by itself in the warmer months, but also fun to layer under chunky cardigans when it gets chilly. For a casual summer-to-fall look, I styled these basic white T-shirts with a pair of skinny jeans, cognac booties and a utility-style vest. I think that the chicest outfits are sometimes the simplest.
