When ugly Christmas sweater parties started to become popular, you used to just find them at Goodwill or in your mom’s closet (unfortunately my mom got rid of hers before this trend rolled around). But now my favorite stores like Nordstrom and Target carry all sorts of novelty sweaters and even DIY kits. I wouldn’t even call this ugly anymore, most of them are just fun and festive! I saw this Pucker Up sweater at Nordstrom Rack recently and couldn’t pass it up! Whenever we have an ugly sweater party come up I seem to be unprepared, but not anymore! I will end up wearing this budget buy (only $18) for years to come. We always have an ugly sweater day at work, but I’m not sure if this one is exactly HR appropriate… Guess I’ll just save it for weekend outings with my husband. There are still a lot of festive activities I want to do, like ice skating at The Cosmopolitan, visiting the Magic Forest at Opportunity Village and seeing the glittering lights at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway. I can’t believe Christmas is less than two weeks away—I haven’t even watched Elf yet!

The great thing about an ugly Christmas sweater is that it can be dressed up or down depending on the occasion. You could wear it with jeans and boots for a casual event or dress it up with a metallic or sequined skirt. I decided to style mine somewhat in the middle with white skinny jeans and nude heels. As for makeup, a red lip is always festive for the holidays and it went especially well with the theme of this sweater! How cute would a mistletoe headband be with it, too? I might have to look for one of those before a cocktail party we have this weekend (you can bet I’ll be making my chocolate hazelnut martini)!
If you want an ugly sweater that gives back, make sure to check out The Shop Forward. This isn’t sponsored or anything, I just love that the money goes to various causes and organizations in the US and around the world. I’ve previously talked about how much I love the Bobby Bones Show and their Pimpin’ Joy movement in this post and I think their limited edition holiday items are so fun. Plus, the ugly Christmas sweaters are less then $40! So go pimp some joy this holiday season while shopping for yourself :)
