What To Expect For Your Destin, Florida Photography Session

The beautiful beaches and natural beauty in Northwest Florida make the perfect backdrops for your family photos. Whether you’re looking for a Christmas card photo, need to update your picture frames or just want to document your amazing Gulf Coast getaway, I’d love to capture your family! I make the process simple and fun to ensure you have a wonderful experience! Here’s what you can expect when you hire me as your photographer:

Don’t be shy, I’d love to hear from you. My name is Jamie and I’m a Destin photographer who also loves baking, trying new restaurants, traveling, relaxing by the beach and spending time with family, which includes my husband, son (Logan was born March 2021) and rescue pup, Emmy.
Want to inquire about a shoot? I have a form on my website to fill out that asks about dates, location, how many people, etc. The more details I have about what you’re looking for the better! This helps me give you an accurate quote and allows me to help you choose the best time and location. Then we can chat via email or over the phone to go over the specifics! A typical family session includes 30 – 45 minutes of coverage, a minimum of 35 edited images, your location of choice, digital gallery, and printing rights. The investment for this package starts at $375.
Planning Your Photo Shoot
During our initial conversation, we’ll discuss what you’re looking for, what location you prefer and we’ll set a date. Once that is all settled I will send you a contract and invoice. Once I receive the signed copy and retainer fee, you’ll be officially booked! The sooner you reserve your date the better. Spring and summer can get very busy and fill up quickly. However, please don’t hesitate to reach out about last-minute shoots either. Sometimes I’ll have a change in schedule that allows for additional shoots!

A few days before your shoot I’ll touch base about the perfect timing and details about where we’ll meet. I typically shoot the hour prior to sunset (known as Golden Hour), so this shifts slightly based on the time of year and weather. At this point the remainder of your invoice will be due.
At Your Session
Yay, it’s photo shoot day! I typically meet you in the parking lot at your location and will walk with you to the exact spot. I’m always awkwardly early, so you’ll likely see me waving to you as you drive in.
We’ll start with traditional poses and then get some candid ones. I have experience working with young kids and babies, so I know they are usually over it pretty quickly. That’s why I recommend we get the frame-worthy and Christmas card photos right off the bat. However, some of my favorite photos come at the end when they’re playing in the sand or the waves. Capturing them in their natural element with genuine excitement makes for special photos! My goal is to get a great mix of both posed and natural images.
Editing
After your session, I choose the best images and then edit them to match my bright, airy style as you’ve seen on my website and Instagram. My typical turnaround time is 2 – 4 weeks, but possibly sooner. It just depends on how many shoots I’ve had recently.
Delivering Your Gallery
Your photos will be delivered via an online gallery where you can download and save your photos. I’ll email you a link to access the gallery and from there you can share them on social media and print them anywhere you like! An important part of this step is downloading your photos and saving them to multiple spots (computer, hard drive, Dropbox, etc.). Your gallery will be deactivated after a few months.
Share Your Images!
It’s time to show off your beautiful family! Feel free to share your images on social media. I just request that you please tag @jamiekamberphotography in the caption when sharing on Instagram or Facebook at least the first time you post them. This is a huge part of growing my business and receiving referrals. Plus I like to see which images you like the best!
