Hello, friends! I feel like it has been forever since I last wrote a blog post and touched base with you guys! There has been new content on the blog, but they were posts I scheduled ahead of time since I knew May was going to be a crazy, on-the-go month (I flew home to Seattle last minute for my grandpa’s funeral, Rob was on a work trip in Japan for 10 days, we took a weeklong road trip with my parents, and other random stuff). It’s so nice to finally have a week where I can stay home, get a ton of work done and just catch up on life. Thankfully June looks like a much calmer month!
Okay, enough catching up—time for today’s post! I’m so excited to share this GORGEOUS dress with you guys! It’s from the Gal Meets Glam collection at Nordstrom and if you aren’t familiar with Julia’s blog, you definitely need to check it out! I’ve been following her for years because I love her classic, feminine style. Plus her photos are gorgeous, whether they are taken near her home in Charleston or on her many travels around the world. I was really excited to hear about the launch of her dress collection, but honestly didn’t think I’d buy anything. I’ve seen other bloggers start clothing lines and they are pretty, but usually the price tag is a little more than I’d like to spend. However, I was blown away by her pieces! Yes, they are a little pricy (this dress was $158), but it’s a beautiful, well-made item that I will wear for years to come. It’s pretty rare when I see something that I just have to have and this was one of those times! It’s everything I love (pink, bows, one-shoulder, etc.) in one dress.
This dress was perfect for a family wedding we attended in Greenwood, South Carolina over Memorial Day Weekend. It was a small, charming town where the bride grew up and luckily the rain held off! The ceremony was at a beautiful church followed by a reception at the country club. Since the dress code was semi-formal, I wanted to wear something fancy and sophisticated, but still fun and in line with my personal style. And let me tell you, nothing is more “me” than the color pink and a big ol’ bow! The fit and flare style of this dress is super flattering, plus the midi length and one-shoulder neckline are pretty, yet conservative. People who I had never met before stopped me just to say how much they loved my dress. Clearly it was a hit and I can’t wait to wear it for future events!
