I grew up reading fashion magazines and working at one has always sounded like a dream job. The creativity, writing, photography, graphic design, styling and other aspects needed to create the perfect issue have always been appealing to me. I guess that’s partially why I started this blog. Over the years though my sources for fashion inspiration have evolved. Although I still read magazines every now and then, I get most of my fashion inspiration from other bloggers. If you’re reading this, you obviously like checking out blogs for outfit ideas, too! I like that they are less about what celebrities are wearing or couture looks that you would only see on the runway and more about everyday women. The bloggers I follow all share pieces that I would actually wear on a daily basis and fit into my budget. For example, I bought this pink cardigan after seeing my friend Lauren from Outfits and Outings wearing it when we met up for dinner one night. I loved how she styled it to create a chic, yet casual outfit. Plus she showed me how soft it was and I was sold! I also get a lot of ideas from Pinterest. It’s a great place to find new ways to style items that you already have. Whenever I get that “I have nothing to wear” feeling I check out my boards to spark some ideas and usually I find a combination that I can recreate with items in my closet. All of this online inspiration has definitely forced magazines to evolve, too. The one magazine I do subscribe to is People StyleWatch, which is one of my favorites because they showcase wearable trends and also feature numerous bloggers in each issue. It’s fun to see people in there that I recognize from Instagram. Maybe one day I’ll see myself ;) #goals.

Thank you, Jil!
It is nice to see how “real” people dress!! Sometimes the magazines seem so “out there” even though it’s fun to peruse them!!
I think blogging is the best way to get ideas of how certain items look!! I do love this pink sweater—really, it’ll go with everything!!

I completely agree! Thanks, Jodie! It has been really versatile :)
That cardigan is such a pretty color, and loving those peep toe booties! I get a lot of my inspiration from fellow bloggers as well, because it’s so much more realistic than magazines or super big fashion bloggers where they’re pairing a $400 skirt with a $250 top and $1500 shoes or handbag. Love my bloggy ladies <3
Green Fashionista
Exactly! I hate when I see high-end bloggers wearing something cute that ends up being hundreds of dollars :(
I definitely get most of my inspiration from other bloggers too. PeopleStyle Watch is the one I have as well! Loving that cardi.
