This week’s Tuesday Trends post was inspired by this windowpane coat I bought on sale recently at Old Navy. It’s really hard to justify buying coats since we live in Las Vegas where you rarely need more than a heavy sweater, but I can’t resist the statement coats that are popular this year. I reasoned that it’s light enough to wear here in the desert, but could also be worn over cozy sweaters when we go to Wyoming for Christmas this year. I was also able to wear it on our mountain getaway last weekend with a cozy cable knit sweater, olive-colored skinnies and cognac boots while exploring the village in Big Bear. There were a lot of cute shops and restaurants, including 572 Social and Big Bear Lake Brewing Company. The epitome of a winter getaway is sitting by a heater on the patio while bundled up and drinking a chocolate or vanilla porter. I definitely want to take another trip to Big Bear when there is some snow on the ground!
