How To Wear the Ballet-Inspired Fashion Trend

I’m a total girly girl, so I’ve been loving the ballet-inspired fashion trend. I even dressed up as a ballerina for Halloween a couple years ago, mainly because I wanted an excuse to make a tulle skirt (you can see how it turned out in this post). From sleek bodysuits to pleated midi skirts, these dancewear pieces have influenced a lot of styles on the runways. When it comes to achieving this ballet-inspired look in real life think wrap tops, lace-up items and dresses with a lot of movement. This style is romantic and feminine, yet minimal and sporty which creates a fun juxtaposition. Ballet flats are an easy way to try this trend, but you can also create this look without being so literal. A knit cardigan paired with a bodysuit, distressed skinny jeans and lace-up flats will make you look like a modern ballerina. Blush and black are key colors, but soft neutrals such as ivory or light grey mix in well, too. I personally love the twist-front sweatshirt featured below because the unique detail elevates this workout basic. The pink lace-up sandals are also a favorite of mine. How could would they be with a floral dress for spring?! Just click the items below for more details!
