Ah weekends. There’s nothing better than sleeping in, going out for brunch and seeing where the day takes you. With so many restaurants in Las Vegas it can be hard to choose, but Rob and I love going to Public School 702 in Summerlin since it’s delicious and you don’t have to deal with the craziness of the Strip. We don’t go out for brunch very often, but our fridge was pretty bare since we were in San Diego the week prior. These items sounded much better than the frozen gluten-free waffles I had in the fridge. We started with the fiery calamari, which had great flavor. I’m not usually a fan of calamari (it was Rob’s pick), but I really liked this dish. Then we ordered the Fried Jidori Chicken & Green Chili Cornbread Waffles (I can’t pass up anything with green chili!) and the Chicken Sausage & Cheddar Grits. Both were amazing, but the grits were my absolute favorite since they had the perfect combo of sweet and spicy. And of course I couldn’t say no to dessert. It was after noon so that’s acceptable, right? The Nutella Cookie Sandwich was UNREAL! First of all it was way bigger than I thought it would be and could easily feed 4 or 5 people. Between the warm chocolate chunk cookies there was Nutella, vanilla bean ice cream and bacon brittle. We definitely hit the gym once we were out of our food comas.
When it comes to dressing for brunch I always prefer a loose top or dress. This blush criss cross tee is chic yet casual—perfect for a Saturday or Sunday morning! And let’s be real, when I wake up and have food on my mind, I don’t want to take the time to wash and style my hair. That’s why this brunch hat is my new favorite accessory! Just throw it on over yesterday’s curls or a low, messy bun and you’re good to go! Also, it’s under $15 so that doesn’t hurt ;) hope you all have a great weekend! My parents are in town so there will be a LOT of food consumed over the next couple of days. Follow along with Instagram stories or snapchat! Username is treatsandtrends for both.
