Seattle Style

When I came downstairs in this outfit on a Sunday afternoon ready to go run errands, my fiance told me that I looked “very Seattle.” I don’t think he meant that as a positive thing, but I took it as a compliment because Washington will always feel like home. I love the laid back Seattle style and miss being able to wear multiple layers. The fashion in Las Vegas is very different. More glamour, less grunge. Since we finally had a 60-degree day, I had to take advantage of it. Hello, cozy scarf, flannel and boots! You can take the girl out of Seattle, but not Seattle out of the girl.

Fall is all about layers. I always start with skinny jeans and boots and then work from there. On this crisp November day I went with a soft flannel button-up layered with an army green jacket that I’ve had for years from Peridot Boutique. I have definitely gotten my money’s worth with this classic piece of outerwear. Since it was really windy (as you can tell from my hair), I topped it off with a cozy infinity scarf. I like playing with the patterns by mixing the plaid and stripes. Needless to say, I don’t think I will ever part ways with my Northwest roots or completely get used to life in Vegas. I mean, I heard the ice cream man come through our neighborhood in November… NOVEMBER! Shouldn’t it be like 40 degrees and raining by now?!
